Oregon's Scenic Valleys
7 Day Custom Small Group Tours
Spend a delightful week cycling through the valleys in central Oregon. We’ll ride on low-traffic country roads that wind through vineyards, orchards, gardens, along rivers and through interesting small towns.
Day 1, June 4: Eugene - 0 Miles
We’ll gather in this bicycle friendly, college town to get ready for our tour. You’ll have a chance to test your wheels on miles of car-free bike paths, and then enjoy Eugene’s famous breweries and restaurants.
Day 2, June 5: Eugene to Corvallis – 45 miles and 400 ft.
You’ll start our ride by stepping out of our riverside hotel and rolling right onto the Willamette River Bike Path. Today’s route spends all day staying in the Willamette River valley as the river flows downstream and north to another college town of Corvallis. We’ll stay in the new Courtyard Marriott right along the Willamette River and enjoy the variety of pubs and restaurants in the fashionable, renovated downtown district.
Day 3, June 6: Corvallis to McMinnville – 57 miles and 1,900 ft.
We’ll continue cycling north through vineyards and orchards as we enjoy the views from the rolling hills. After arriving in McMinnville, you’ll enjoy walking through the vital downtown area filled with wine tasting shops, eclectic stores, and many restaurant choices. We’re staying right downtown in the famous Hotel Oregon. Built in 1905, it’s now renovated with a fabulous roof-top bar and filled with historic paintings.
Day 4, June 7: McMinnville to Silverton – 44 miles and 1,000 ft.
Upon leaving town, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the world famous Evergreen Aviation Museum (home of the original Spruce Goose and dozens of other famous planes) before heading back out into the countryside. You’ll once again enjoy riding along the tranquil roads as they wind through orchards and gardens. Bring at least one dollar cash with you as this time you’ll be crossing the Willamette River on a small ferry! Lunch will be a treat in Mt. Angel at one of two famous German restaurants: The Glockenspiel and the German Sausage Company. After lunch, swing through the hilltop forest at Mt. Angel Abbey and Seminary with its expansive views before finishing the day’s ride at the Oregon Garden Resort.
Day 5, June 8: Silverton to Lebanon – 56 miles and 3,100 ft.
Today will be your only chance to do some steady climbing as your head up towards Silver Falls State Park. You’ll ride through the entire length of the state park with its stunning old growth forests before heading back down into the valleys. Be sure to stop for some great photo ops at several renovated covered bridges that are on your route.
Day 6, June 9: Lebanon to Eugene – 62 miles and 2,000 ft.
It’s a delightful ride back to Eugene as you roll along on country roads with views of forest, mountains and river valleys. Your last ten miles are some of my favorite as you finish on car-free bike paths that hug the banks of the Willamette River. Back in Eugene we’ll lift a pint to celebrate a great week of cycling!
Day 7, June 10: Eugene – 0 miles
Enjoy a leisurely departure, or perhaps take a tour at one of two bicycle factories in Eugene: Bike Friday and Co-Motion Cycles.
